- Visit any one of the Smart Chip Play lottery retailers and purchase a game card with play credit. The minimum play credit purchase is $10.00.
- The retailer will give you your game card and a game tablet that you can use to play anywhere the retailer allows on their premises.
- When you play a Smart Chip Play lottery game, your play credit is reduced according to your chosen play amount. If your play results in a prize, that prize amount is added to your winnings balance which is displayed on the main screen under your play credit balance. Your winnings balance can be cashed out at any time, subject to certain restrictions described below. Your winnings are also included in your play credit balance, where they can be used for additional play once all your purchased play credit has been used.
- Once you have finished playing, remove your game card and return the game tablet to the retailer.
- Be sure to keep track of your game card because it is a bearer instrument and should be treated like a lottery ticket. The game card is required for validation and cashing out any winnings.
- No. The game card is your personal card that stores your play credit and winnings. The game card can be used to continue playing at any Smart Chip Play lottery retailer any time during the program. Your game card is your responsibility. It is a bearer instrument. The Lottery is not responsible for lost or stolen game cards.
- Winnings for any prizes less than or equal to $600 are added to your play credit balance and available for play once your initial play credit purchase has been used in its entirety.
- Prizes greater than $600 must be claimed through the Lottery as described below.
- Yes. You can present your game card at a participating lottery retailer and purchase additional play credit that will be added to your card.
- No. Play credit is non-refundable. Play credit can be only used for play during the program. Play credit cannot be used to purchase any other lottery product.
- Yes. Your card can be used to play at any participating lottery retailer at any time during the program.

- Game card prizes can be cashed out at any participating lottery retailer, so long as each prize included in the winnings has a value of $600 or less.
- Prizes greater than $600 must be claimed through the Lottery, as described below.
- Individual prizes greater than $600 require the player to complete a claims form to receive payment by the Lottery.
- Present your game card to the Smart Chip Play lottery retailer who will confirm the win, print a claim ticket that you sign, and provide you with a claims form to complete and sign.
- The prize amount to be paid by the Lottery will be removed from your card.
- The retailer will attach the signed claim ticket to the white copy of the claims form and send it to the Lottery for processing.
- The retailer will provide you with the yellow copy of the claims form and retain the pink copy for their records.
- Once the white claims form is received by the Lottery you will receive a check for the winnings.

- Play data itself, such as the games played or the amount played, is anonymous. Anonymous gameplay data is collected to monitor the security and performance of the program.
- Personal data is only collected on the claims form for payment of winning prizes greater than $600.
- The Secretary of Revenue, through the Lottery, will publish the beginning and end dates of the program in the PA Bulletin.
- The program end date will also be communicated to all Smart Chip Play lottery retailers, through this website, as well as via other communications methods.
- Unused play credit will expire once the program ends. The end date of the program will be published in the PA Bulletin and will be communicated through this website. Be sure to visit a Smart Chip Play lottery retailer to play out your remaining play credit prior to the end date of the program
- Players have one year from the published end date of the program to cash out any remaining winnings.
- For 90 days following the end of the program, players can cash out any remaining winnings on their cards at any Smart Chip Play retailer.
- Players can also visit designated PA Lottery offices to cash out winnings on their cards during the one-year period following the end of the program.
- Once the one-year period ends, the right of the game card holder to cash out any winnings remaining on a game card will expire.
